Our community grants application is due! It can be downloaded from this website. The deadline for submission is October 1st  so submit now! The awards ceremony will be December 5th.
Congratulations to Pam Goodman and Matt Wetstein who won Aptos Chamber of Commerce woman and man of the year. The dinner to honor them will be Oct 25th. Tickets will be $85 or $105 for the Rotary Table. See Doug or Michele or their website to sign up.
Dagmar announced that beach clean-up day attracted 25 people on Saturday the 21st. Ryan took photos of the day and they appeared in this month’s issue of the Aptos Times! There will be another clean-up in November.
Pam thanked us all for our support for the Alzheimer’s walk. It raised over $20,000!
Starting in October, on the first Monday of every month from 5:30 to 7:00 we will have social gatherings here. It is a chance to introduce new friends and prospective members to our club!
Constantine announced the Sunrise Rotary bicycle trip next Saturday. There will be a welcome party from 11:00 to 1:00 for the riders. For details go to Sunrise Rotary website.

Jeff revealed that he went to catholic schools and he wanted to be a priest when young. Jeff went to college at UC riverside. Jeff met his wife thru friends and is now a banker at RABO banks which has recently merged part of its business with Mechanics Bank. He has three sons. He transferred from the Salinas club which his boss urged him to join. He has two dogs one cat and 4 chickens
Dagmar has two children and said her youngest child is 21, the eldest is 24. She went to college at Pepperdine. She is a paralegal who does probate and trust administration who met her husband as a client. Her father was a Rotarian in Watsonville. She has two dogs a cat and six chickens.
They concluded by asking us a number of questions and rewarded our right answer with candy!
